Blade: This utilitarian slip joint folding knife has a flat ground, satin finished 1095 carbon steel blade that handles a variety of daily cutting tasks with ease. A nearly full length swedge tapers the blade to a fine point for piercing and detail work. A generous nail nick is provided for opening with snappy half stop for added safety. A "Viper" blade etch accompanies the standard blade stamp markings.
Handle: The sway back shaped handle has brass liners supporting the black plum bone covers that are jigged for traction and pinned securely. Polished nickel silver bolsters at the pivot are flush fit to the scales. A full length stainless back spring, brass lanyard tube and polished Federal shield round out the construction.
1095 High Carbon Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
