Great Eastern Northfield UN-X-LD knives feature 1095 carbon steel blades which are shined to a mirror polish and receive a Northfield UN-X-LD tang stamp. GEC has resurrected the Northfield Knife Company’s tang stamp and traditional shield. The Northfield Knife Company was a prominent knife maker in the US from 1858 to 1919. The traditional patterned knives have exotic wood, North American cattle bone or genuine stag handles. All of the jigging for Great Eastern’s unique jigged bone is done on site in the GEC bone works. Most of the Great Eastern Northfield knives also receive the traditional UN-X-LD shield as a final touch.
