Microtech Socom Alpha Mini Tanto Apocalyptic XHP Fixed Blade Knife 114M-10AP

It took more than a decade for Microtech to deliver a fixed Socom, the Socom Alpha, but lucky for us the Alpha Mini was quick on its heels. A more compact version of the full size Alpha, the Mini delivers the same level of performance and precision fit and finish in a package that is easier to carry for added versatility. This Tanto version comes with a plain edge, Apocalyptic CTS-XHP blade and black G10 handle scales.

Blade: The Tanto point blade is saber ground for a balance of strength and cutting performance. Heavily blasted and tumbled, the Apocalyptic finish is rugged and wear hiding while being more non-reflective for discreet use. Premium CTS-XHP delivers top-end performance.

Handle: The full tang blade supports 3D machined and contoured black G10 handle scales that are securely attached with proprietary hardware. The spine is proud to the scales for a more ergonomic feel while full jimping all the way around the handle on both the scales and spine deliver optimal traction in the hand. A hole at the pommel end allows for lanyard attachment.

Sheath: Carries via a molded Carbon Fiber pattern Kydex sheath with locking DOTS belt clip.

CTS-XHP: An ultra-high-carbon 'stainless' steel that was developed to combine the corrosion resistance of 440C and wear resistance of D2. With good wear resistance and the ability to attain a high hardness, CTS XHP has edge retention somewhere between S30V and ZDP 189. An excellent choice for any knife that is going to see a lot of use.
