The Mike Irie Custom TFK in maroon linen micarta runs a big recurve spear point, hand rubbed to a soft satin glow and slid into a low-key black kydex sheath built for the field.

• Hand Rubbed Recurve Spear Point — Mike Irie hand rubs the hollow ground blade to a clean satin and sharpens most of the upper swedge for a second working edge. Ground from thick stock, the deep recurve belly pulls weight forward for chopping power. A thumb ramp with jimping and an index guard lock your grip in.
• CPM-154 Stainless Blade — CPM-154 is a powder steel that holds a working edge, shrugs off rust, and comes back sharp without a fight at the stone. It backs the big recurve with the staying power for long cutting sessions far from a workbench.
• Maroon Linen Micarta Handle — Fine-weave linen micarta in deep maroon, a shade some call burgundy, wraps the full tang and is contoured smooth for a comfortable, solid hold. Three stainless steel tubes pin the slabs and leave open spots to thread a lanyard or lash the handle to a staff.
• Black Kydex Belt Sheath — A custom black kydex sheath molds tight to the blade and snaps it in with a solid click. This one skips the carbon fiber texture for a flat, plain black look. An integrated belt loop sets it up to ride on the hip for daily carry.

The Mike Irie Custom TFK

Mike Irie has made custom knives full time in Colorado Springs, Colorado since 1991, learning the trade under his father-in-law, the maker Barry Wood. The TFK is his large field knife, built around a deep recurve spear point with a sharpened upper swedge and a clean hollow grind. Irie finishes each blade with the hand rubbed satin he is known for, and runs three stainless steel tubes through the handle for lashing and lanyard points. He belongs to the Knifemakers Guild and the Professional Knifemakers Association, and also grinds special edition blades for production knife companies.
