Recent customer request have led to the development of lighter, functional series of knives oriented toward hunters, backpackers, campers, and other outdoor adventurers. The Viper Scout is an elegant, functional design built for performance in the field for general users. Features include a wide, thin blade and ergonomic handle design that offers a secure grip in multiple positions for added versatility. This version of the Viper Scout comes with a blade of Black Traction coated 1095 and red and black layered G10 handle scales with Rocky Mountain Tread.

Blade: Made from Black Traction coated 1095 carbon steel, the drop point blade is nearly full flat ground for good durability and excellent slicing. With plenty of belly, the Viper Scout excels at general utility tasks while being fully capable of field dressing and game processing. An integral guard and jimping on the spine offer added safety while the coated blade resists corrosion and wear and is discreetly non-reflective.

Handle: Red and black layered G10 handle scales are attached to the full tang blade over red liners and are milled with Rocky Mountain Tread for excellent traction while the contoured edges provide comfort for extended use. The handle design puts the blade slightly below the handle, keeping the point centered, and delivers enhanced efficiency in use. A generous palm swell fills the hand makes for secure use in multiple grip positions while an oversize hollow tube allows for lanyard attachment.

Sheath: Carries via a high quality black leather belt sheath.

1095 High Carbon Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care. TOPS utilizes a differential heat treat process which delivers a harder edge and tougher spine.
